The 29th International
Exhibition AGRO 2017, the most important state level event of the Ukrainian agriculture, and the largest international agricultural exhibition of the CIS and Eastern Europe, was held from June 7 to 10, 2017, on the territory of the National Exhibition Complex "ExpoCenter of Ukraine" in Kiev.
General partner of AGRO 2017 was KUHN.
The exhibition was opened by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and the first Deputy Minister of agrarian policy Maxim Martynyuk.

The Government of Ukraine has introduced several programs to support agriculture in Ukraine, which employs one in six Ukrainian citizen, and the current objective is not only to sow but to process the product inside the country. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at AGRO 2017. "We will spare no effort to introduce new technologies in the agricultural sector. We have perfect potential in science, major investment in the agricultural sector, and the latter is growing”, said the Prime Minister. “However, our essential objective is to develop rural areas. I would like that by pursuing necessary reforms we could give a new impetus to the development of farming, small and medium-sized businesses. We must work on this issue and we will succeed."
On June 7, the Forum “Agrarian Policy: Success Through Partnership” took place within the frame of AGRO 2017. The main topics discussed during the Forum were strategy of the Ukrainian agribusiness, rural development, European integration. In the frame of the Forum the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture and the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The official delegations from Belarus, Germany, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway and the foreign ambassadors from 12 countries - the Republic of Iraq, Palestine, Hungary, Argentina, Egypt, Poland, Kazakhstan, Iran, Switzerland, Austria, India and Macedonia - attended the exhibition.
Traditionally in the frame of AGRO were held the specialized exhibition for agricultural machinery and equipment ExpoAgroTech, the specialized
exhibition of animal industries and veterinary
medicine Animal'EX, the specialized exhibition of Plant-Growing and Agricultural Chemistry, the
exhibition of horse breeding and equestrian sport "EquiWorld, the specialized exhibition for fish farming and
fishery FishExpo, the
specialized exhibition for alternative and renewable
energy BioFuel, the specialized exhibition for automation, management, GPS and GIS technology Hi-Tech AGRO, the specialized exhibition for agricultural construction AGRO BUILD Expo and the specialized exhibition of green building and eco-friendly houses ECO HOUSE.
The specialized exhibition of organic products and technologies Organic
was organised in the frame of AGRO in cooperation with the Organic Federation of Ukraine for the fifth time. On June 8, 2017, Roundtable "Organic production - a priority direction of the agrarian sector of Ukraine" was traditionally held in the frame of Organic exhibition as part of project "Development of the Organic Market in Ukraine" implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland), with the financial support of the Swiss Confederation and the USAID AgroInvest.
More than 1,200 companies,
associations and research institutes presented
the latest innovations, products and technologies
in agricultural machinery, plant-growing and agrochemicals, livestock breeding, bioenergy, alternative energy, organic farming, and building in agriculture.
The largest exhibition area of AGRO was traditionally reserved for agricultural
machinery. Tthe leading international and domestic producers introduced the new
machines and equipment: harvester-threshers, tractors, multipurpose machines, seeders, sprayers etc.
The group stands of Kyiv, Zaporizhya, Cherkasy, Lviv, Volyn,
Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi, and Zhytomyr regions were traditionally presented at AGRO. Over 300 national brands of foodstuff and food processing industry were offered at manufacturing prices. Kharkiv region exposition was awarded with the gold medal of the exhibition.
The exhibition attracted 180,000
visitors incl. 71,000 professional visitors.

More than 48 conferences,
seminars and meetings were organized by Ukrainian Ministry, Committees, Embassies, associations
and companies during AGRO 2017.
Business program of AGRO 2017 
On June 9, 2017 the second all-Ukrainian forum on high technologies for agriculture - AgTech Forum 2017 - took place in the frame of AGRO 2017. AgTech Ukraine Association organized the venue with a support of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The forum consisted of 5 sections formed accordingly upon subjects that cover the most topical technological products and services for the agricultural sector nowadays. The exhibition AGRO 2017 proved once again that Ukraine is the country with
strong agribusiness and high traditional farming culture.
